Sailing Academy Aarhus

Together with my good friend and long time sailing college, Peter Hansen, I started working on a Melges24 project with the intention to make it a down-scaled America's Cup or Volvo Ocean Race project. Before we were ready to present the project to potential sponsors a Sport-college in our home town was interested to realise the project. From there on it has been full-forward and today there are 9 students sailing every day in the Melges 24 in the Bay of Aarhus. The program was build up as a stepping-stone for talented young sailors to work as professional sailors in a high performance keelboat. The goal was to do a good performance at international Melges 24 regattas in Europe. After long preparations in Denmark the teams did a fantastic job and came 2nd in the Melges 24 Winter Volvo Cup at lake Garda.
